Emotions are a key part of what makes us human and they help support our survival. For some people normal emotions, for example, fear or sadness can start to become problematic when they increase in frequency or intensity. When difficulties with emotions occur they tend to be accompanied by certain thinking styles and ways of responding to situations.
In the current study, we are using new web-based tasks that were originally developed to change unhelpful thinking habits (worry about the future and mulling over things from the past) in people with anxiety and depression. We have tailored and adapted this for people treated for cancer to reduce worry and low mood and build resilience. If you would like to read more about this study, please click here.
